The most important question you will ever answer is this: when you die, where will you spend eternity? The Bible says you can know for sure. Please take a few minutes and read what God says.

God Made You, and He Is Holy

God created you, and He loves you. He is also perfectly holy: He has never done anything wrong, and He cannot accept sin.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

Genesis 1:27

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

1 Peter 1:16

We Have All Sinned

Sin is anything we think, say or do that breaks God's law: lying, stealing, hatred, lust, pride, taking God's name in vain. Nobody is good enough. Not one.

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Romans 3:10

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:23

Sin Has a Price

Because God is just, sin must be paid for. The Bible calls that payment death: not only the death of the body, but being separated from God forever in a real place called hell.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Hebrews 9:27

And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 20:15

We Can't Pay It Ourselves

Many people hope their good deeds will outweigh their bad ones. But even our best works can't wash away one sin. We don't need to try harder; we need to be rescued.

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Isaiah 64:6

God Sent His Son, Jesus

Jesus Christ is God the Son. He became a man, lived a perfect life without sin, and died on the cross in your place, taking the punishment you deserve.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John 1:1

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1:14

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 5:8

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

This Is the Gospel

Jesus died for our sins, He was buried, and three days later He rose again from the dead. He is alive today. His payment for sin is complete; there is nothing left for you to add.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

1 Corinthians 15:3-4

Jesus Is the Only Way

There are many religions, but only one Saviour. No other person, prophet or path can pay for your sin.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:6

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Acts 4:12

Salvation Is a Free Gift

You can't earn salvation, buy it or deserve it. God offers it to you freely, by His grace. A gift is not worked for; it is received.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ephesians 2:8-9

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Titus 3:5

These Things Cannot Save You

  • Being baptized
  • Joining a church, even a good Baptist church
  • Being a good person or doing good works
  • Saying a prayer, even a so-called “sinner's prayer”
  • Reciting prayers, keeping religious rules or holy days
  • Being born into a Christian family

These are things we do. Salvation rests completely on what Jesus did.

Repent and Believe

To repent means to change your mind: to stop trusting yourself, your goodness or your religion, and turn to God. To believe means to put your whole trust in Jesus Christ alone, in His death, burial and resurrection, as the full payment for your sin.

Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.

Acts 20:21

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:9-10

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:13

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

John 1:12

You Can Know for Sure

Your assurance doesn't rest on how you feel. It rests on God's promise, and God cannot lie. Everyone who trusts Christ has eternal life, right now, and can never lose it.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 5:24

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John 10:28

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

1 John 5:13

Will You Trust Jesus Today?

A prayer can't save you. Neither can walking an aisle, raising a hand, or feeling a certain way. God saves the person who believes: who stops trusting anything else and trusts Jesus Christ alone, His death, burial and resurrection, as the full payment for their sin.

You don't have to wait, and you don't have to get cleaned up first. The moment you trust Him, He saves you, and you have everlasting life (John 3:16). Don't put it off. Will you trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour today?
